Devlog — A Town, A Girl, Abandoned

Hey everyone, I’ve been quiet for a few days — here’s why.

I’ve been working on a story project titled “A Town, A Girl, Abandoned.”
It’s now complete and available to read for free.

About the Story

In a small mountain valley, a nuclear disaster forces an entire town’s evacuation, leaving behind empty streets and silent homes. But Elera, a young woman grappling with her own solitude and pain, chooses to stay. Amid the creeping shadow of radiation and the ghostly quiet, she finds purpose caring for abandoned cats, scavenging forgotten places, and bridging the gap between the past and an uncertain future.

This isn’t a tale of heroism or despair — it’s about quiet resilience.
Small victories. Fragile hope. The strange comforts found in solitude.

As Elera builds her refuge amidst ruin and reconnects with the echoes of humanity, her story becomes a reflection on loneliness, survival, and the meaning of staying.

I used Snugly Cowriter to help draft and refine the story — a tool I’ve been developing to assist with structured creative writing. This project was a good test for it, and I’m happy with how it turned out.
