The Carpet Never Dries

You awaken on a damp, beige carpet in a windowless building. The smell of mildew is overpowering, and every step makes a wet, sucking sound. Fluorescent lights buzz above, some flickering, some dead entirely. Water stains spread across sagging ceiling tiles, dripping into shallow puddles. The hallways twist and split in ways that defy logic—sometimes returning you to where you started, sometimes opening into entirely new spaces. In the corner of your vision, a tall, black fungus-like figure lurks, motionless, as though waiting for you to tire before it approaches.
